Summary:
Wist is the most important person in the village of Yria.
As the eldest daughter of the village leader of Yria, her sole duty is to be the Chosen of the Goddess, Yradaya, the protector of their land and people. This role is meant to bring prosperity and good health to the village, as foretold by the previous followers of the Great Goddess.
On Wist’s 20th birthday, Yria holds a special festival just for her, to celebrate her existence and as a send-off for her one great purpose. However, what is supposed to be a joyous day causes Wist to question everything she knows and feels, and a newfound fear erupts within her.
